Overview

The Chamfer tool creates angled cuts on edges. Unlike fillets which are curved, chamfers create flat beveled surfaces. Select faces to chamfer their boundary edges.

How to Use

Click a face

Click on a face to select all its boundary edges for chamfering.

Add more faces (optional)

Hold Shift and click additional faces to include their edges.

Set the distance

Enter a distance or select from standard sizes.

Apply

Click Apply or press Enter to create the chamfers.

Natural Language Alternatives

Instead of using the tool, you can type these commands:

  • Add 1/16 inch chamfers to all edges
  • Chamfer the top edges at 45 degrees
  • Bevel the hole edges with 1mm chamfer

Tips

  • Chamfers on holes help with screw insertion
  • Small chamfers remove burrs from machined edges
  • Chamfers are often preferred over fillets for metal parts
